Cherry On Top Award

<
How great is Nicole at http://creativedelightsbynicole.blogspot.com/ Isn't she amazing? I am so glad she tripped over my blog and commented because, man, I am blown away by some of her projects. I love her vinyl project on a glass frame for a baby dedication gift, its beautiful. You should go check her out. :)

Rules for this award: Thanking the person that gave it to you --- THANK YOU NICOLE! I REALLY APPRECIATE IT!

Copy award to your blog.... (Did that!)

3. List three things that you love about yourself.
This one always trips me up. Um, I love that I can laugh at myself (because really, who else will?) Okay yeah.. This is hard. I don't really "love" any particular thing about myself. But I am grateful for what I have. Can I just skip this one? PLEASE?

4. Post a picture that you love... Oooohhh so many of those. But what do I have stored on the puter? THATS the question. I am so lazy tonight. Hmmmm.. Just a sec.
Doesn't it just look like a fairytale pic? Gorgeous!!! Love this one.

5. Pass it on to five people --- Oh come on! That is so unfair! Ya'll deserve this one. I am totally getting in trouble for hogging the computer, so I am leaving it for everyone to grab. Love all the blogs I follow. Otherwise, why would I follow?! You guys are great. Thanks for stopping in and leaving comments when you can. I love them! EVERYONE HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY LABOR DAY WEEKEND!!!

Diaper Baby

I just loved the diaper babies I have seen out and about. But thought they'd be too hard to create. WRONG! I totally winged this baby and was thrilled with how she turned out. So here's a lesson for you --- don't be intimidated when you see something you like. Roll up your sleeves and get to it. :) Isn't she adorable?

Manly Birthday Card

This card was made out of scrap paper from the bin using the Cricut Lite Carousel Cartrige. It really is a fun cart! My hubby's birthday was this week and I needed to come up with something. Its always so difficult (for me) to do manly cards. But we are huge thrill rider kind of people here and when I saw it on the cart, I just knew I'd need to make a card out of it. So here is what I came up with.

Birthday Card

Here is a bday card using Walk In My Garden. Its been a very long time since I have played with this cart and I haven't a clue why. Okay, I have a clue. I have purchased too many NEW ones to be enjoying my OLD ones. AUGH! The struggles of it all. Love the paisley paper in the background. Found it in the scrap bin and thought it was perfect. Inked it all up cause' thats what I hear you gotta do, slapped down some glue, thru on some pop dots, and I had myself a card that I loved! Hope you do too.

Remember the babyshower invites?

Well I never did post the finished product. Made 24 of these things and they were a huge hit with the mom to be. So I am super excited. I did everything but address them for her. (She wanted to do that part herself.) The piecing took a bit of time, but the rest went pretty fast. Thank goodness for my MS glue pen. Its fast and easy on the small pieces. Highly recommend getting one if its missing from your craft station. Used the pooh font cartridge for the images. Not really sure who the stamps are from. Got them ages ago and they are not marked with the manufacturer. But they did add a little something to an otherwise plain envelope.

Layout

The paper on this layout was all from various DCWV stacks. I seem to be collecting those and not using them. Why is it so hard to USE the pretty paper? LOL! I had to hurry to complete this on Saturday because I was suppose to be helping with a memorial service next door and was on standby. I had a few extra minutes before people arrived, so I snuck over to check on the dogs and complete a couple pages. (Shhhh... Don't tell anyone!) They didn't miss me. I got back with time to spare. Dang I am good sometimes!!!

This l.o. challenged me to use a few stickers in the cupboard and some of the chipboard I had laying around. Embellished with some flowers for the big ol' tub and tada!!! One quick layout that is simple and pretty. No cricut or anything to spectacular. I just didn't have time to drag stuff out. It was a use whats at your fingertips kind of thing. But overall...not bad for a spare 15 minutes eh?

Wish

Here is a simple card made for my grandmothers 85th this past weekend. Since I helped with a very large memorial service the day before, I kept this very, very simple. Just black and white floral cardstock with a punch of color here and there. Embossed "wish" and added a small butterfly sticker. Viola!

Splat!

I've been M.I.A for awhile. I was working with the hubby on Jaryds swing set and zip line for out back. Well, you know, I still managed to pull some crafting into the outdoor projects. Check out the vinyl letters for the end of the zip line. I used the "Cuttin' Up" font. Told Jaryd that he needed to let go before he hit the pole or else... SPLAT!

Happy Anniversary

Hi everyone. Miss me? I bet not. But here I am anyways. :)

Today is my Anniversary. Been married to my love for 12 years now. Why did the song "I will survive!" pop into my head just now when I typed that? Too funny!! Anyhow, its been a wonderful 12 years. Full of lifes ups and downs, but truly, a wonderful marriage. Can't ask for a better man. He loves his family and treats us right. So I am blessed.

We are both overweight. I am currently working on slowly changing my status, but hey, I am a work in progress. Not sure why I thought of this when I wanted to make my husband a Anniversary card but I love it. And my hubby did too. His only question was "which one of us is the marshmellow?" Does he really need to ask that?

Inside the card I wrote all the smooshy stuff. Thought I'd just show you the blank version so you wouldn't get sick. But after I filled out the smooshy part I decided to go further. I made a "smore" out of paper. Forgot to get a pic of it. But it said "We go together like marshmellows and chocolate. I love you 'smore' everyday!"

It was cute and he loved it. So I am totally happy.

Baseball Birthday Card

I used the Sports Mania Cartridge and cut it out at 3 3/4". To add a little pizazz to something that is kind of boring, I stiched it with twine. The card was meant for a 12 year old boy. He loved it. But I think that had more to do with the $$$$ inside it rather than the actual card. LOL!

House From "Handy Man"

We have new neighbors. They've been busy, we've been busy. So besides a couple glimpses across the fence and a wave here or there, we've not met. Today I changed that. Not sure if they think I am the biggest dork on the planet or not, but I made a little paper house and filled it with some starbursts. Inside I put our names and our telephone number along with a "welcome to the neighborhood greeting" and left it with their oldest son. He has to be about 16, so the look he gave me was priceless. Some old hag coming to the door with a paperhouse and starbursts... It seemed like a cute idea at the time! LOL!

Anyways, this is the quick little house that I made using the Handy Man Lite Cartridge. I used the "fit to page" feature so it cut out at 7". I was in a hurry so I didn't bling it up. But it served its purpose. It was a cute way to give them our contact information in case they needed anything or had an issue with our dogs. So, without further ado...

CAC Bunny

Isn't this cute? I am having a blast working with these little characters. Super easy piecing so it makes for super quick cards! Since I don't have much time in the craft room as of late, I am digging this.

Whose been bad?

Come on. I need everyone to fess up and help assuage my guilt!!! I put myself on a spending freeze and then BAM!!! I was bad. Very, very bad.

I broke down and got TWO paper packs last night. TWO! Did I need more paper? NO!!!

This is on the heels of buying the 3 Martha Stewart carts.

And while I am being horrid and admitting my crimes, lets just get it out there now. Okay, I did it. I picked up the Wall Decor & More cartridge. But did I stop there? NO!!! I ordered Happy Hauntings and Rock Princess. (Hanging head in shame.)

The only reason I did not go further in debt was because I didn't have the numbers for winter frolic and country life. Yeah... I have an addiction to scrapbooking.

Why am I confessing? Because a friend of mine was looking for a list of my carts. You know when you write it down it makes it worse right? Agh!She wants me to admit to my madness. She actually entertained the idea of surprising me with a cart! I am so lucky to have these dear people in my life. But really? Does it sound like I could use more? I want her to save her money!!! So that is why I am blabbering about my new purchases. So she knows that I am not doing "without." When in fact Ive been bad. Very, very bad! Anyone else this terrible? You know, I'd love some company in the time out chair. :)

Happy Birthday

This was created with CAC. The used a touch of liquid glass on the balloon to give it a bit of shine. Pretty simple to make but oh so cute! Love teddy bears. They always make me smile.

Happiness

No cricut on here either. But who said this was a cricut site? ;) LOL! I just love this panda bear stamp. He looks so peaceful to me.

Love

No cricut on this card. Just a stamp that I embossed and a paper flower trio slapped on for some dimension. I was really diggin' the card at first. When it was a crisp white... But yeah, I was getting messy at my workstation and instead of taking a moment to wipe the table, you guessed it. It landed in something yellow??? I don't even recall me working with yellow stuff that day. But oh well. I just chalked the rest yellow to cover the flub. Its not terrible. But its not what I wanted either. So this card will go to a 13 year old girl that I know and she'll look past my flubs and enjoy it. She is such a sweetheart.

You thought I forgot all about blogging....

Haven't you??? Well, I didn't forget... But summer has me by the ankles and I just can't seem to break away to get to that craft room. Every night, every day, its been something. And so the fun continues. But I thought I'd share a couple photos of my latest adventure. Oregon is known for its rain, but did anyone ever mention the beauty of the place? Don't believe me? Well, check this out!!! Gorgeous, eh??? Had to walk forever to get there, but worth every step of the way.
