Sometimes you need to invite some down time. :)

Versatile Blogger & Cricut-tastic Awards

Wow, what wonderful blogging friends I have. Sandy @ http://sandyfromukiah.blogspot.com/ and Maria @ http://stampcutcreate.blogspot.com/

Tremendous talent at those blogs and I do love to visit people who have a great sense of humor. So both ladies fit the bill and are worth checking out. Not once, but repeatedly. Maria's blogger award says to state 8 things about myself and pass them onto other bloggers. Sandy's says to state 5 cricut related things about myself, post the badge proudly, and pass it on to others. I don't get a lot of time to venture out in the blogging world to discover everyones awesomenes, but I am very aware of how amazing each of you are. I apologize wholeheartedly if I miss someone or repeat from earlier awards, but really, I don't know that many people!!! LOL! So if you are accidently skipped, just reach up and grab these for yourself and post them proudly. Each and everyone of you deserve them. I'll try to do blogs that I haven't mentioned before or if its been awhile, that way hopefully you can all find some new ideas to inspire you.

Okey dokey, that being said... Hmmm 8 things are:
1) Dutch Bros is my all time favorite coffee to snab on the go.
2.) Cinnabon espresso coffee is my favorite to brew at home. But getting harder and harder to find at the stores!
3.) I detest weeding immensely.
4.) I prefer housework to yardwork. But would rather overlook both. :(
5.) I like my neighbors.
6.) We have a zip line in the backyard. And yes, I have tried it.
7.) I find ebay to be an adrenline rush
8.) I recently discoverd that my treadmill is NOT my friend!

And 5 cricut related things about me are as follows:
1.) I had a baby bug for over a year and didn't make anything.
2.) Once I did use it I quickly fell in love, sold it to a friend, and upgraded to the big one.
3.) I have so many cartridges that its easier to hand hubby a list of the ones that I don't have rather than the ones I do.
4.) I love the paper piecing process but detest some of the tiny cuts on the disney ones. They are awesome cartridges with so many extras, but sometimes I go rounds with them because of the eyes and lips on some princess's. Sometimes its best to walk away and come back!
5.) Short of the E2, I do believe I own all the pc machinery. And I own most of the cartridges. Except for some of the limited ones. They just aren't ringing my bells and I see alot of cuts that I have on other cartridges. But most full carts are in my collection. Can we say YIKES??? Please don't tell Lantz. Please don't tell Lantz. Okay, I am sure he already knows. But we just don't need to point it out. :)

Alrighty then. Thats all you ever wanted to know about me and more. So I am off to list the blogs that I am forwarding these too...

Mothers Day Cards

One for my momma and one for my grams. Both are amazing women with hearts of gold and unmeasurable depths. I owe them everything. For the cards: I just played around with cupcake wrappers and a glue gun. HAPPY MOTHERS DAY LADIES! (Sorry this posted late. Blogger is having issues again and my posts aren't going out as scheduled.)

Confessions of a stampaholic and a tip.

I admit it. I love stamps. I have tons. Of course I didn't realize you were suppose to note the manufacturer on each one, never thought I'd have a blog or people that would want to know either. So many are unidentifiable. The packaging long ago tossed. OOPS! But I thought I'd share the way I store my stamps and show you a great way to use old cricut mats and stamps that you've cut away from wooden blocks. Works perfectly for me. The mat is still slightly tacky and will hold the stamp in place for easy flipping. The other binders are all filled with acrylics in baseball card slots or page protectors. Most are sorted by theme. I've had them like this for a bit and this system works for me. Would love to see/hear what others do.

Recycling some electric fence wire.

True scrappers use whats around them. LOL! So imagine my joy while I followed the hubs around hanging the electric fence. While standing there holding the spool of wire I couldn't help but think "Hmmmm... Wonder how flexible this stuff is? Can I use it for something?" There was alot of wire left but the hubs took it away to his shop. But not before I managed to snab that small mangled section. Hee hee hee.

The bonus to all this? I finally got to use the wire snipper and plier set the hubby bought me several xmas ago. Still have not come up with an occasion to use those safety goggles that was in my stocking... (What the hell does he think I "DO" in there?)LOL! Gotta love the man. He's a crack up!

Fruit Grocery Bag Using Yudu

I have a love/hate relationship with my Yudu. I choose to love it because I only paid for shipping so it didn't really cost much. I hate that the supplies to USE it cost a fortune. I hate the size of the sucker. I love paint. I love the flexibility. And I love that you don't have to use that expensive emulsion and can cut a ton of time buy using vinyl instead. I am irked that I can do this all without this mondo machine, but since I have it, I use it. I like the screen and sticky board that keeps everything from moving. So see? Coming up with more likes and loves now that vinyl has been introduced to it. But I am a cheapskate too. On some things. And I am stingy when it comes to vinyl. Since I didn't know exactly what I was doing I chose to use shelf liner paper instead. Had okay results. Not super, but not bad. I am sure with some practice, I can get better. And oh how I love to do things inexpensively.

Don't look "too" closely for my flaws. I am, afterall, a beginner! But isn't this too cute? Picked up the bag ultra cheaply and thought it wouldn't hurt me or my pocketbook if the project failed. But I think it was successful enough that I would not be embarrased to carry this to the store. Thought it would be great to have a few 'key' bags for groceries. I love the idea of cloth bags but do you really remember which one held your meats etc? This way I know which one carried fruit and which one needs to be washed each time. Obviously I have more bags to do. So bear with me!

I didn't wait for it to be completely dry before I moved it. Patience is not a strong point for me. So if you try it, DO wait for it to dry. My dog didn't help matters when he came over to check it out. Left a small smudge that I tried to 'free hand' and cover up. Added peachy keen face stamps and then drew over with permanent ink. If you have any tips or suggestions on how you use yours, I'd love to hear them.

Spring Flower Gift Box - Cupcake Wrappers

Who wouldn't love to receive this? I can think of a zillion things to stuff into this gift box. Earrings, bracelet, necklace, CASH, candies... The list goes on and on. All that is needed is a small circular gift box. Picked mine up for a dollar. I am sure you could recycle a container from home just as easily. I am sure Blue from Blues Clues would grab his handy dandy notebook, but me, well, I grabbed my "handy dandy" cupcake wrappers. Any color will do. The possibilities are endless. I had purple. So thats what I used. Some turned inside out because I loved the dark purple and the soft lavender together. Grabbed my other "handy dandy" item which is my glue gun and I was set.

Took some lavender scrap paper and trimmed the rim of the lid. Just in case a bit of the wrappers didn't cover. Then covered the side of the circular base. Set the base aside. Working from the outside in, I did lavender then dark purple slightly overlapping each other all the way around. Then towards the center. Easy Peasy and had beautiful results. Happy Sunday Ya'll!
