Fruit Grocery Bag Using Yudu

I have a love/hate relationship with my Yudu. I choose to love it because I only paid for shipping so it didn't really cost much. I hate that the supplies to USE it cost a fortune. I hate the size of the sucker. I love paint. I love the flexibility. And I love that you don't have to use that expensive emulsion and can cut a ton of time buy using vinyl instead. I am irked that I can do this all without this mondo machine, but since I have it, I use it. I like the screen and sticky board that keeps everything from moving. So see? Coming up with more likes and loves now that vinyl has been introduced to it. But I am a cheapskate too. On some things. And I am stingy when it comes to vinyl. Since I didn't know exactly what I was doing I chose to use shelf liner paper instead. Had okay results. Not super, but not bad. I am sure with some practice, I can get better. And oh how I love to do things inexpensively.

Don't look "too" closely for my flaws. I am, afterall, a beginner! But isn't this too cute? Picked up the bag ultra cheaply and thought it wouldn't hurt me or my pocketbook if the project failed. But I think it was successful enough that I would not be embarrased to carry this to the store. Thought it would be great to have a few 'key' bags for groceries. I love the idea of cloth bags but do you really remember which one held your meats etc? This way I know which one carried fruit and which one needs to be washed each time. Obviously I have more bags to do. So bear with me!

I didn't wait for it to be completely dry before I moved it. Patience is not a strong point for me. So if you try it, DO wait for it to dry. My dog didn't help matters when he came over to check it out. Left a small smudge that I tried to 'free hand' and cover up. Added peachy keen face stamps and then drew over with permanent ink. If you have any tips or suggestions on how you use yours, I'd love to hear them.

  1. Too cute! I love that. I admit I was thinking of making a bag that I saw online, but it was super naughty. It said "I need bleeping groceries" with the bleep being the mother of all cuss words. I can't figure out a way to make it without offending everyone in the store. I like your route much better!
