A touching award & a birthday card.

Sandy http://sandyfromukiah.blogspot.com/2012/02/i-have-been-honored-with-this-amazing.html has been such a dear friend to me. Isn't it crazy what connections you can make over the internet? She's like heart warming pen pal that is always praying for me and saying such nice things. And more importantly, she gives me the kick in the arse when I need it. I can't whine and cry to her. No way. She's an angel in wolfs clothing I think. But she always notices when I drop away out of blog land and always sends me a personal email inquiring if I am okay and telling me to get back to posting. You have NO IDEA how much that means to me Sandy! To take time out of your day to inquire on me, I totally could cry! But now onto the award part. She touched my heart again by thinking of me for this too. I learn something from each and everyone of the people I follow. I'd like to share it with everyone. So feel free to grab it. I have given these ladies awards before. But I honestly can say they are all amazing and I never fail to visit their sites and walk away with my head spinning with ideas and going "wow, wow, wow!"

Now for the card.

I had to scan this in. Blogger would not upload from my camera today. But at least I got something posted. Though not a super exciting project, I do like the card. Looks way better in person. I do have several things to post and I was planning to string them out so there would be one thing to share each day. But maybe blogger is telling me that it doesn't want me to share. LOL! I am sure that is the case because I lost the details of the card too! Better luck on my next post I guess.

Got Game?

Admittedly, not the best pictures but for the life of me I can not find the charger thingy for the camera battery. One would think I'd be organized by now. But I didn't want a lecture from Sandy with a Prius LOL! So I took it with my phone and got it posted. Sandy from Ukiah. Sandy with a Prius... I think it should be Sandy with attitude. LOL! Sorry love, just giving you a hard time! I am sure everyone visits her blog often but if you don't you should. Your missing some really great stuff!

Details? Ugh. Crud. I gotta give the deets. Hmmm.... The paper was from DCWV paper stack called Generation Tech Premium. Its a really great kid or man stack in my ever so humble opinion. Lots of uses for boys! Especially teenage ones.

Wrap it up produced the game console image, and was cut at 5". Used plantin schoolbook for the pac man. Just cut a circle and cut out a wedge - instant pac man!

I like the layout because there is room for bigger pictures and some extra journaling if I need it. I made this one in anticipation of a trip I will be taking with my neice and nephew. I figure they will be in the backseat with their hand held gaming devices and I must remember to get pictures!

Elegant Edges Cartridge using loop cut on page 35 and cut at 1.75"
Mocha Divine Bazill cut at 4.75" and 6" for the squares.
3" heart and 5" cupid using the Love Struck cricut cartridge.

To a cute couple... :) Or maybe a nice valentine to send to friends? I used some old dcwv stack paper for this and the formal occasion cricut cartridge. Another cartridge I haven't really played with before. Go me! ha ha ha...

Dinosaur Card

Here is a card that I made for my nephew to remind him how much I love him. The photo is pretty atrocious. I took it from my smart phone. Its not its fault, I am just to stupid to own a smart phone. Guess I'll have to find where the settings are and adjust them. LOL! Mr. Dino is from Dinosaur Tracks. Admittedly not a cartridge that I use very much. I do believe my intention was to do some dinosaur layouts from when Jaryd was really into them but that time is long gone. He used the cartridge once for a school project so I guess its been at least used which I can't say for all my carts. How terrible is that? I should not buy anymore carts until I've at least played with what I have at least once. Hmmmm. Think I'll add that to my growing list of new year resolutions. The paper is from a stack I picked up at a garage sale and I don't see a manufacter on it. So my apologies for the lack of info on it. I can tell you that its OLD. At least 3 years and who knows how old it was when the person had it. So I guess it doesn't matter. Right? This is a 6.5" x 4.5" card. Grey layer is cut at 6.25" x 4.25" and the slate background is 6"x4". I like to do .25 increments for some reason on my layering. Do you guys have a fav for layering? Mr. Dino is cut at 4" and the grass was just cut with some of those cheap shredding scissors I found in a clearance bin for a buck at our local hardware store. They are like the fancy MS scissors but with out the fancy price. I am okay with that. I don't use them often. I do believe my card got smashed somehow because the grass is askew and not curled like I had it. Guess I will have to fix that before I mail it off. Why don't I notice these things before I take a picture? Oh well! Its posted. So I am golden. I just hand wrote the sentiment (obviously) but added some dots here and there to make it interesting. Hope he likes it. Top of the mornin' to ya'll. LOL! Have a great day.

Isn't this so retro? Not usually my style but I love how this turned out. I cut it out from the "from my kitchen" cricut cartridge at 3.75"s Black cs 4.75" x 6.75"x Mod retro paper from dcwv cut at 4.5 x 6.5"

Vinyling A Fire Hydrant

I found this fire hydrant (12" tall) full of dog toys a few months ago and just thought it was the cutest thing. But plain. So I fixed that with some "handy dandy" vinyl. For a minute there I sounded like that dude on blues clues... Yikes!

The details:
I know its odd, but I used the wild card for the alphabet. I don't think I have ever used that feature on this particular cart before. But I like it! See page 87 for the reference of what key is for which letter. The letters were cut at 2".

Mickey and Friends on page 84 was used for the bones feature along the bottom. That was cut at 1.25" and repeated 6 times in order to go all the way around the base.

Four Legged Friends was pulled out to use the paw print feature. Prints cut at 1".

Gems were glued on the top and where the bolts would traditionally go on a "real" hydrant. I thought it added a bit of pizazz to it.

I am now using it to store his dog food. What do you think?
