PDDU Series

Greetings ladies and gentlemen! I am so excited to give you this weeks project. I was given PAGE 31 of the Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge. The 12" x 12" paper was Charcoal grey. The second layer on paper on top of the charcoal was from Formal Affair from DCWV cut 11.5" x 11.5" - Just letting the charcoal peek thru. Kind of "grounding" the layout I think.

The decorative boxes for images and notes is from Lacy Labels. (2) at 4", (1) 1.75", and (2) 5"
The arbor was made using accessory 3 at 4.5." I cut it out once in white and trimmed off the petals. Then I proceeded to cut it three more times in green. It doesn't show it well in the photo, but that trellis is raised like a 3d image. I even chalked it. So it turned out so pretty! Then I added few paper flowers and set white beads in the center to complete the affect.

The bouquet is cut at 3" and added my own bow. I thought I'd put the wedding date in the box it sets on. Lettering was cut from the Jasmine cartridge at 2"'s.

I did something different with the bride. She was cut at 3.75" but instead of facing her forward, I had her back to us. Cutting her hair 4 times and layering it so the tendrils fall casually. Once the wedding dress was cut, I deepened the cut with regular scissor to give it a "open back" look. And if you look really really close, I used a rub on tatoo on her shoulder. Isn't that fun? The veil I cut out of paper, then I used tulle and added some additional flowers. Topping it all with swarski crytals into the netting and also on the crown she wears. Burned the crap out of my fingers but I loved designing her.

On the second page I used French Manor table that was found on page 33 and cut at 3.25." Then I grabbed the PDDU cartridge right back and cut the cake at 3.25." I cut off the handle thing on the cake because it looked stupid. Sorry but it did. Added more flowers to tie it all in and then I used white applique to puff up the cake's piping and added some glitter right before it cooled. I layed the smaller bouquet on the table and again used the burgandy ribbon in my stash to tie it all together.

The gift boxes were accessory 2 and cut at 3.75", 2.75" gray, 6" and 4.5"pink, 4.75" and 5.25"green.

Sort of a labor of love on this project. I enjoyed the entire process and love how it turned out. I would be interested to hear your thoughts as well.

Be sure to check out the other beautiful creations from my peers at the following and share your love! Comments are so heart warming and encouraging. Drop them a line if you have time!

PAPER DOLL DRESS UP Series 1

Its finally time to debut! Hopefully you find it inspiring. We all started out with picking a random object in the PDDU booklet to make a spring themed tag. I chose the wagon on page 36. Cut at 4.5" and used the flowers on page 41 at 1.5". Used a bit of silver leaf for the handle and rims. And a few pop dots to give it some added dimension. Very simple but oh so cute!Or, I thought so anyway. Here is mine:
Yeah, I thought mine was cute til' I saw these bad boys... Check these out!

Another Hogwarts

While we impatiently wait for our pddu tags to debut this Wednesday, I give you another Hogwarts layout. Lacy Labels and pddu were the only cartridges I used. And that was for picture placement and for the frog jumping out of the pot. Jaryd made Scabbers, Ronald Weasleys pet rat. Which I love because that is what scrapping is all about. I curled the ends if some paper and use a scrap piece of rub ons for the letter. Finished with the Hogwarts official seal of course and
some chipboard stickers of the houses. Ransacked my tub of feathers for a quill and viola a HP masterpiece. HaHa.

I am feeling a CHALLENGE coming on!

A paper doll dress up challenge that is. Whose with me?! LOL! Well, I know Agnes, Dawn, and Sheena are...

Never in my life have I explored a cartridge all the way thru. Lets face it. I am a cartridge hoarder. Not user. If you are like me, you might want to follow along and see what we come up with. Even jump in and make your own creations. I'd love to see what you come up with.

The four of us will be completing the series without (hopefully) losing our sanity. I, for one, am MEGA excited. So if you would be so inclined to check us out each WEDNESDAY, we'll have some great stuff to show you. I am absolutely positive that the cartridge has some surprises in there. Ones I know I have forgotten about.

This is going to lead to great things. I just know it!

Yes, I will be posting more. I won't promise a post every day. But I am feeling that crafty itch that can only be vanquished by getting out to my craftroom. LOL!

This awesome series will begin April 18th. We will be starting by posting a Spring themed tag. Then on April 25th we will start exploring PDDU. Each lady was assigned a different page to work with. So it should be a hoot to see what each of us comes up with. The challenge has my dedication thru mid July. I am super excited because that cart has sooooo much more than a paper doll. So save us, bookmark us, stalk us. Whatever... But do note to keep checking in.

Welcome to Hogwarts!

Sorry ya'll had to tilt your head for the last two pictures. I uploaded from my phone since I am at work and two came out sideways. How weird!

I made a double layout for Jaryds pictures when he was in his Harry Potter phase last year. Remember that? I think I am still making "butterbeer" on occasion so he's not completely gone from our home. Anyways - back to the layout. I used the Paper Doll cartridge for this. The castle was done fit to page which came out 8". The witches hat and one of the ravens were cut at 1.5", smaller raven was just 1/2 and inch. The tree was 6.5", and I made the broom out of a kabob skewer that I cut down and inked. Used twine and black elastic for the broom head. Rub ons of course and a little bit of inking finishes it out. Hope you like!

Another Chalkboard

Jubilee and Caligraphy fonts cut out of vinyl. 3 coats of chalkboard paint. Super easy but lots of fun.

Sorry I have been away from crafting. I've been struggling with some health issues and to top it off, my beloved Pikachu has been diagnosed with hydrocephalus. Which is water on the brain. Since he's only 2 pounds, he's very fragile. But he's my love and I will do whatever I can for my furbaby. He has a lot of "issues" going along with that diagnosis and its been a trial to keep him with us. But I think we've got a pretty good system worked out and he seems to be doing much better. He's currently taking a little siesta on my lap. :) Have a great day everyone and I hope to be visiting everyones blogs very soon!
