For the sight impaired.

****Hmmmm a few of my posts didn't go out in time. I found this one still sitting here. So its obviously past grandparents day! I will still post to remind everyone to find other ways to make the elderly love ones day.****

Yeah. I am not quite there yet. But I am getting closer every stinkin' day.

My grams unfortunately is already there. And as she ages, she gets to enjoy less and less.

Last month she was complaining that there was no point in people getting her cards because she couldn't read them. And she is sad that she isn't able to write to people anymore for her xmas cards. Well, isn't that just sucky?

So it was grandparents weekend and she was sitting by herself on the patio. So I ran in and quickly made her this card. Its that huge poster board folded in half.(Card ended up being 18" high x 14" wide. It was huge! Using A Childs Year this was just so easy and quick. She got a huge kick out of it. And it literally took me just a few minutes to make her whole day.

So I encourage you to think of some of your parents or grandparents and do this for them if they are struggling. We don't have to stop completely, we just need to find another way.

And yep, I even volunteered to write her xmas cards when she's ready to dicate them.

Tis' the season to get ready to be selfless and giving!!!

Vinyl project

Alright peeps. Lets recycle!

This was a clear tube from a usb lighting system my hubs bought for more clutter around the house. Yep, you know how I love clutter. NOT!!! Anyways, I stole the container!!! But SHHHHHH! Don't tell him that. I "needed" it. ;)

This is super simple too. Grab any clear container you desire and cut image out on vinyl. Attach to project and voila, ultra cute personalized piece. In this case its a dog biscuit container. I used black vinyl and the forever friends cartridge again. Super fast and ultra fun!

Personalized Blankets

Everyone now knows about my little Pika. Well Pikachu. I call him Pika unless he's in trouble. Or chewy. The more he gets up and going, chewy becomes more and more applicable! But Pika kinda sticks and is easy to say. Anyhow, before I got to bring my little man home, I had some questions for his foster mother. And just so I didn't annoy the poo out of her, I tried to save them up so I wouldn't drive her nuts. But I am sure I still did. But I was soooo excited!!! So, in order to smooth the way and kiss up a bit, I ran to the store and bought a couple baby blankets. One for the momma and another for the daddy. Those are HER babies and I thought she'd get a kick out of it. And she did! I used the imagine machine to print out the their names and images. Ironed them on and this is what I came out with:

Here is the dads:

And here is the moms:

I used the opposites attract font cartridge and four legged friends for the paw print and chihuahua image.

Hope you love it as much as I did. Have a wonderful evening.

Yowsa!

It has been ages since I updated my Gypsy. I had no idea that there were so many new cartridges out there. For some one that had every cartridge there for awhile, I really missed the ball on this one. Good thing I lost the feeling of having to have every single one because alot of these images are repeats. And some are just plain bizarre. IMO.

But all the updating is done so maybe while I am laying around chilln' by the pool the next couple of nights I might get some stuff put on there. I could try at least. Cause' its not happening the way it is!

Hope everyone stays crafty while I am away on seminars!!!

A Bus Album

Theoretically you "could" make this board book/album with your cricut in a snap. However, when you can just pick one up in a clearance bin for a buck, why would you?! LOL! I am all about easy peasy (and cheap!) these days unfortunately.

Imagine me in 90 degree weather. No, no, not on a sandy beach with a drink in my hand, wrong image. Lets try again. Picture me in a car with no air conditioning. Hair fried. Nerves frazzled. I am late for dinner, late for "meet the teacher," late, late, late. I detest being behind. I HATE being late. So what do I do? Stop at the craft store. Does that make any sense??? Yeah, it didn't to me either. But apparently I needed to pick up a friend whose car was having trouble and she was waiting in JoAnn's where it was nice and air conditioned. A dangerous place for someone like me. I have to run through the store like a mad woman to locate her and ... "WHAT WAS THAT?!" "Back up a minute. Hmmm.. Yeah. This is cool. Yeah, I could vinyl this. YEAH!" Grab album, grab friend and I am OFF! Slam down some dinner, toss friend out the door when her next ride shows up, and run like a lady's whose underpants are on fire to the craft room. Are you with me? Still picturing this? Yeah. I was looking GOOD. (Not.) Anyways, grabbed some vinyl, slapped it down on the cricut and while its cutting I write all my pertinent information down on a 3 x5 card to slip inside album to give to teacher. It gets done cutting, I lay down the letters, and BAM! A personalized gift in just moments. I run inside. Add some deoderant, pull up my hair, and meet the kid and hubs in the car. My son insists that its "okay" but no way is he giving it to his teacher. I have to admit, this is probably something you'd give a first grade teacher or something. But hey, it was better than nothing. And what a way to make someone feel special. The teacher loved it. Success! And all done in less than 5 minutes. :) But don't tell I cheated "k"???

Its A Boy!

Because life isn't crazy enough... I thought it would be extra fun and challenging to add baby Pikachu to our mix. And boy oh boy is he darling! The added bonus of puppy kisses and a permanent snoozing buddy has been delightful. This gives you a highlight on what I am up to.
